Well we wrapped up our week of surgeries yesterday...we did 30 surgeries and the Doc's saw well over 300 patients in clinic. We saw all the post op patients yesterday with the exception of the Thursday and Friday cases who will be seen by the Peruvian clinic staff.
As is the tradition Sandy and Guido the founders took the team out for a beer at a local haunt...hysterical a few tables...posters of the Virgin Mary all over the walls...did not have my camera...might have to walk back.
Then the other tradition is our team to host the clinic staff for dinner. We had a fabulous dinner at the Coya guest house. The guest house hosts are German, so the meal was 1/2 German and 1/2 Peruvian.
Today Saturday I awoke with an urinary track infection, so I ran over to the clinic for some medicine. I have been forcing fluids and resting. The team went to Cuzco for the day...bummer...but I am feeling better already so just a temporary inconvienence.
Tomorrow the team heads home to Cuzco-Lima-LA-Portland. It has been a great team.
Tomorrow I head to Edy Gonzales families house in Calca. Edy lived with me in Portland for 6 months last year. So it will be fun to connect with his familia.
