It always amazes me that a group of folks can come together in 24 hours and form a conceive team. We did 5 bigger surgeries and were done by 4.
More impressive is the sturdiness of the Peruvian people...the 5 patients required less pain medication than frequently one patient might at home.
Today also afforded me the opportunity to play with cute children in the waiting room.
The end of the day ended somewhat sadly ...Steve one of our surgeons attempted to get the wax out of a four year olds ear with out anesthesia ...poor little one screaming ...momma crying ...and all of the nurses crying...luckily when I suggested doing it under anesthesia we stopped and it will be easier tomorrow.
This morning Sandy Del Prado arrived it was great to see her. She is the Co-Founder of the clinic.
Brigid and her fellow community member arrived to join the team. We all met at a pizza place in Pisac. This team is proving to have no problem letting their hair down and having fun at night..before long shots of tequila were going around...followed by some riding in a Moto taxi and the rest piling into the pick-up truck again.
